Scandal Season 3 Wishlist: Can Lisa Kudrow be a Villain?; Olivia Should be with Jake

Season 2 of “Scandal” ended just the way it should of—with us on the edge of our seats and staring at the TV screen in disbelief that Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) had just uttered the word “Dad?” There’s been a good amount of spoilers out there—although not too much as is Shonda Rhimes’ style—to keep us excited for the third season. So here’s the three things I want to see in this season of “Scandal”:

No. 1—Lisa Kudrow, the villain

It was reported by Deadline that the “Friends” star would play a recurring role this season as a politician. Any TV watcher has seen Kudrow in a number of comedic roles so it’s time to switch it up. Why not make her the mastermind behind a plot to destroy Olivia and her team? Or maybe a lower-level politician making a run at the White House and trying to use Fitz’s (Tony Goldwyn) affair with Olivia to propel her goal. Enough of the comedy Lisa—it’s time to get devious.

No. 2—Calm down Quinn

While seeing Quinn (Katie Lowes) learn from Huck last season was pretty cool—it’ probably a safe bet to say she went just a little too far. What I—and hopefully most fans—were hoping, is that she would take after more of the secret agent side of Huck (Guillermo Diaz) rather than the crazy, I-like-to-cut-people-up side of Huck. Hopefully in Season 3 she comes back down to earth.

No. 3—Team “Jalivia”

Olivia and Jake (Scott Foley) should become a thing. He’s better for her. He’s got military experience, he obviously fell for her and, oh yea, he’s not married. I may be in the minority here but Olivia and Fitz seem to produce more and more bad news. Of course this is probably not going to happen since the shows name is “Scandal” and the Fitz/Olivia relationship seems to be a corner stone of the series. Well, guess that’s why they call it a wish list.

Season 3 of Scandal premieres Oct. 3, 10/9c on ABC.
