Nevzat Aydin: Turkish CEO Gives Employees $27 Million After Selling Company

Nevzat Aydin, Turkish CEO and probably the best boss in the world right now, decided to give out $27 million to his staff after selling his company. After dividing the amount to his 114 employees, each would get more than $200,000 in bonuses.

Yemeksepeti.com, which Aydin co-founded, is Turkey's biggest online food delivery service and is more prominent in Middle Eastern countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Jordan. Delivery Hero, an online food-delivery firm based in Germany, bought Yemeksepeti for $589 million in May, according to The Huffington Post.

"Yemeksepeti's success story did not happen overnight and many people participated in this journey with their hard work and talent," Aydin said. The company, 15 years in operation, has already had a staff of 370 people delivering three million meals monthly, CNN Money noted.

The bonuses were distributed to the employees depending on how long they have worked for the company, with a minimum of two years. Aydin also considered the employees' individual performance and contribution to the future of the firm, Business Insider reported.

One of his employees, Nedim Nahmias, was recently engaged. He was a call center agent for Yemeksepeti and, after 10 years of hard work, a chief operating officer. He would not disclose the amount that was awarded to him, but he said it was more than enough for a "soon to be married couple," according to CNN Money.

"The success of companies like Delivery Hero and Yemeksepeti is based on amazing company cultures where tremendous people always walk the extra mile," Delivery Hero spokesman Bodo von Braunmuehl said.

Aydin is not the first CEO to share the love with his employees. Richard Branson, CEO and founder of the Virgin Group of Companies, has awarded his staff with benefits such as 12 paid months of paternity leave, The Inquisitr reported.
