For the past few weeks, the tech industry has been buzzing about the upcoming unveiling date of the iPhone 5S. On September 10, Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to take the stage at a press event and showcase both the newest edition to the company's flagship smartphone lineup, the iPhone 5S, as well as a new low-cost iPhone 5 with a plastic backing called the iPhone C. With so much known about the unveiling, surprisingly little was known about when the actual date would be that users can hold an iPhone 5S in their hands. Thanks to leaks from Apple employees and calendar schedules, it looks like the actual release date is known.
According to the Inquisitir, Apple's iPhone 5S is scheduled for a September 20 release date, just ten days after its unveiling. A leaked Apple employee's calendar seems to confirm the news. It shows a restricted amount of time off AppleCare employees are allowed to take from September 15 through the 28. These dates match up with the employee calendar vacation blackout dates that are currently being scheduled by major wireless carriers like T-Mobile. Normally the release of a new phone, especially the coveted iPhone 5S, means a huge increase in business. If Apple is going to release the device around then and smartphone retailers have knowledge of that, it would very much explain the sudden scheduling restrictions.
Given how well this coincides with all of the other rumors out of the Apple rumor mill, many have already begun to take this leak as gospel. While it's important to note that the existence of a new smartphone has not yet even been confirmed by Apple and users will have to wait until September 10 comes and goes before anything is confirmed for sure.
However, the clues are leading piling up. The biggest wink from the company that hints at the iPhone 5S release date and unveiling date is the most recent implementation of its trade-in service, that will take people's old smartphones and give them credit for the amount its worth, likely to go towards the new iPhone 5S.
