Illegal Alien Released By Border Patrol Now Faces Murder, Attempted Rape Charges

Illegal immigrant Juan Emmanual Razo was in custody in Lake County, Ohio on July 7 until federal immigration authorities told the local Sheriff's deputies to release him because he did not have a criminal history. Just two weeks later. Razo allegedly went on a crime spree, killing one woman and attempting to rape and kill two others, according to The Daily Caller. Razo is once again in custody and being held on $10 million bail, Cleveland.com reports.

On Monday, Razo allegedly attempted to rape a 14-year-old girl and shot a woman before killing Margaret Kastelnick. A shootout with police ensued.

Earlier in the month, deputies confronted Razo while he was sitting in a park car. They received confirmation from U.S. Border Patrol that he was in the country illegally and were ready to arrest him, but then the deputies were told to not take action.

"Emmanuel Razo was secured while we spoke with Officer Rivera of U.S. Border Patrol, who later decided not to respond to take Emmanuel Razo into custody," a Lake County sheriff's deputy wrote in his report, according to WKYC. "[Razo] was warned not to return to this property. We cleared."

Authorities in Ohio say it is still unclear why they were told to not take Razo into custody earlier in the month.

"We're looking at the facts of the case to find out exactly what happened," Jamie Ruiz, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, told The Daily Caller.
