As AFC East rivals, it's no surprise that the New England Patriots and New York Jets are not overly fond of one another. The same goes for their fans. But the competition between the two sides is not just reserved for the field. Any time the opportunity to get a dig in at one another presents itself, you better believe both sides are taking it.
Case in point: a group of Jets fans paid to have a small plane fly over a Patriots training camp today with a trailer banner that reads "cheaters look up."
According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the plane made two circles around the practice field.
This is yet another in a line of outrageous (but devoted) fan financed stunts. The same group of Jets fans pooled their resources to put up FireJohnIdzik.com billboards shortly before the former general manager was let go. One thing is for sure, you can't question the fanhood of these guys.
Safe to say that there is no love lost between these two teams and their fan bases.
