Say goodbye to all the catfights and bling! TLC cut ties with the girls of reality series "Gypsy Sisters," according to TMZ. The stars of the "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" spin-off spoke out on Twitter and confirmed that the reality show focused on their drama-filled American Gypsy lifestyle was cancelled.
The cancellation is reportedly due to low TV ratings from the previous season, according to TMZ's sources. TLC discussed bringing the show back for a fifth season but then decided to move on.
It was speculated that an incident last week between "Gypsy Sisters" co-star Mellie Stanley and her husband Randall Scott Vuncannon was the reason why TLC passed on the show. The couple was involved in a domestic dispute that ended when Vuncannon got so angry he threw Stanley's small white puppy across the kitchen, killing the animal. Cops charged Vuncannon with felony animal cruelty, according to TMZ. But sources close to the show's production team confirmed it was the show's ratings that made TLC cut ties with the girls.
"Sorry to all #gypsysisters fans," co-star Joann Wells tweeted on Thursday. "It's true the show is canceled but no worries you can still follow me and I will be posting and updating." She punctuated her tweet with a check mark, kiss mark and a blushing smiley face emoji.
Another "Gypsy Sisters" star, Kayla, tweeted a link to her YouTube channel and told fans to subscribe to keep up with her now that the show is over. She finished her tweet with the hashtag "#nextstep."
