That long-term contract extension for forward Jake Voracek Philadelphia Flyers GM Ron Hextall was said to be hopeful of finalizing before Flyers training camp in Sep. has come with several weeks to spare. According to Frank Seravalli of TSN, the deal is for eight-years and carries an average annual value of $8.25 million, for a total value of $66 million. As Seravalli noted in another tweet, Voracek's new deal now gives him the 10th-highest cap hit in the league and is worth just $200,000 less than his teammate and Flyers captain Claude Giroux.

"The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have agreed to terms with 6'2", 214-lb right wing Jakub Voracek on a multi-year contract extension, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
"Voracek (25, 8/15/1989) completed his seventh NHL season in 2014-15 and led the Flyers with 81 points and 59 assists, while his 22 goals ranked third on the team. His 59 assists ranked second among all NHL players, while his 81 points tied for fourth-best in the NHL. He also posted new career highs in points (81), assists (59), power-play goals (11), power-play points (33), game-winning goals (tied - 3) and penalty minutes (78)."
Voracek was originally acquired from the Blue Jackets in a trade that also landed the Flyers a first-round pick that would wind up becoming Sean Couturier, who got his own new six-year contract extension earlier this week, and prospect Nick Cousins.
Since joining the Flyers, Voracek has amassed 85 goals and 153 assists in 290 games. He is third-overall in point production among NHL wingers since the 2012-13 season.
