NBA 2K14 Releases Video on Dynamic Living Rosters [WATCH]; Discusses Partnership With Stats Inc.

2K Sports released a video today discussing the Dynamic Living Rosters feature coming to “NBA 2K14.” In the video producer Zach Timmerman talks about the weaknesses of the previous Living Rosters feature and what the new features will bring to the table.

“We really felt like [Living Rosters] had a few limitations, namely how quickly users were able to get those roster updates,” said Timmerman, “and the trends players were going through in real life were not necessarily reflected very well.”

The “NBA 2K14” producer said this year will be different especially since the “NBA 2K” team is getting some help.

“So we teamed up with a company called Stats Inc.,” said Timmerman. “They’re a very innovative stats information company and combined we came up with a feature called ‘Dynamic Living Rosters.’

“‘Dynamic Living Rosters are going to allow people to get their updates a lot quicker and they’re also going to notice the trends that players are going through.”

A few days ago I mentioned something like this video would be a good idea. Although Timmerman explains that the DLRs will allow us to see the changes in a players’ game (whether he is hot or cold and so forth) a deeper explanation would be great for gamers. As pointed out on PastaPadre.com, NBA Live was very swift in making sure gamers knew their rosters updates come an hour after NBA games end.

“NBA Live” still has a lot of catching up to do and, until EA Sports proves otherwise, is not in the same class as “NBA 2K.” However, it seems the “NBA Live” team is taking the proper steps and could give the reigning champion on NBA video games a run for their money on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
