A family in Lake Worth, Fla., wasn’t too panicked when they came home Monday to find a would-be burglar in their home — the man was passed out on their living room couch after eating chicken and drinking beer in their kitchen, according to the Associated Press.
When deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene on South K Street, they found Jacob Miller still asleep in the South Florida home, reported the Palm Beach Post. Additionally, items were scattered around the house, and chicken bones and empty beer bottles were strewn on the kitchen floor.
After waking up the 22-year-old and taking him into custody, officials found many items from the family members’ jewelry collections on him.
Miller, who authorities found out had an open warrant for burglary in Texas, was charged with burglary and theft.
He told deputies that he went to the home because he needed a place to stay but refused to answer any other questions at the time.
