'Wet Hot American Summer' Released On Netflix

Today the prequel to the cult classic "Wet Hot American Summer" has been released in the form of an eight-episode series on Netflix. The original film came out in limited release in 2001, according to the Los Angeles Times. The "Wet Hot American Summer" movie was a satire of summer camp films set in 1981 at the fictional Camp Firewood.

The original film did not do so hot at the box office, but word-of-mouth, special screenings and the ever-rising profile of its cast cultivated a rabid fanbase. The cast of the film is stellar and starred many huge stars right before they made it big time. The film about the last day of summer camp starred Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni and David Hyde Pierce, as well as many notable comedians.

The great thing about the Netflix reboot is that the entire cast is back, even Oscar-nominated Cooper whose career skyrocketed after the film was released. The new Netflix show also added a lot of famous newcomers including Jon Hamm, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Jason Schwartzman, reports Vanity Fair.

The eight-episode prequel reveals how the summer of 1981 began and is entirely set on the first day of camp instead of the last, like the movie, reports the Slate. You can watch all eight episodes of "Wet Hot American Summer" now on Netflix.
