RHP Ivan Pineyro main return from Cubs to Marlins for Dan Haren. Other is Elliot Soto, a soft-hitting 25-year-old at AA. Just depth pieces.

The Chicago Cubs have made their first trade prior to the MLB non-waiver deadline and acquired a starting pitcher from the Miami Marlins.
Dan Haren will join the Cubs' starting rotation, according to Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times and Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. The deal comes as a bit of a surprise considering the Cubs were not linked to the Marlins in any trade rumors leading up to the deadline.
The deal has been confirmed by Joe Frisaro of MLB.com:

Haren is 7-7 with a 3.42 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 88 strikeouts in 21 starts (129 innings) this season.
"He makes $10.2 million this year, putting the Cubs' prorated responsibility at about $3 million, just under the limit they had left in the payroll budget," Wittenmyer added.
