Two firefighters were taken to the hospital after taking a fall while fighting a fire that broke out at the Atlanta airport on Tuesday, according to the Washington Times.
Janet Ward, spokeswoman for the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, said two firefighters slipped into a pool of water while fighting the fire and were taken to the hospital. According to Ward, the injuries are minor.
The fire is under control at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport according to local news station WAGA-TV. Reese McCranie, spokesman for the airport, said the fire started due to an escalator motor. Around 5:30 a.m., smoke started filling Concourse T and airport authorities removed passengers from the area.
There were no other injuries after the blaze broke out in the airport, but travel slowed down and travelers were directed to other concourses.
CBS reported that by 7 am., all gates were open and flight routes were normal. However, a train that runs through the airport was not making stops at Concourse T.
McCranie also mentioned that because of the busy holiday traveling from Labor Day, travelers should allot extra time to waiting in line at security and gates as the firefighters finish their investigation into the fire.
Hartsfield-Jackson is the world's busiest airport according to CNN. The news outlet recently sent 30 of their journalists to discover what goes on behind the scenes at the busiest airport in the world by volume of passengers -- what it's like for the Transportation Security Administration officers, Southwest Airlines grounds crew, and more.
They are currently reporting their findings on Twitter (@CNNTravel) and Instagram, always marked with the hash tag #ATL24.
