Naval Academy Rape Case UPDATE: Friends of Female Midshipman Testify She Couldn't Recall Details Day After Alleged Sexual Assault

The sexual assault case against three Naval Academy midshipmen continued with testimony during a preliminary hearing on Monday, where witnesses stated the alleged victim appeared drunk during the night of her alleged attack.

Tra'ves Bush, 22, Joshua Tate, 21, and Eric Graham, 21, are the three Naval Academy football players accused of sexually assaulting a female midshipman after a night of partying in April 2012.

According to The Baltimore Sun, friends of the female midshipman testified she did appear intoxicated during a preliminary hearing. However, the witnesses did not say the alleged victim was "so drunk at an off-campus party that it became necessary to intervene, to stop her from drinking or to take her home."

Christa Kamon, a Naval Academy senior is a "close friend" of the alleged victim said she looked "fine" the night in question. However, Kamon also testified the victim called her the next day to ask: "What happened last night? Where am I?"

Attorneys for the defense asked Kamon why she never told investigators her friend couldn't recall the previous night's events. According to the Sun, Kamon said "she was trying to answer questions to the best of her ability."

Another friend of the alleged victim testified in the preliminary hearing. Senior Mitchell Kempisty told the court he saw the accuser around 2 a.m. with a unidentified person outside of the Football House, but she did not appear to be "incapacitiated."

But senior Candice Tisdale said the alleged victim was drunk at the party, and the next afternoon was "still not 100 percent."

The Sun reports Academy Senior Kenyon Williams, "best friend" of the accuser, told investigators that the victim told him the day after she was a willing participant in the sexual acts: "What I did last night, I did it, and I wanted to do it." However, Williams testified on Monday he did not remember the alleged victim saying the statement.

The female midshipman accusing the three Naval Academy football players went on the stand to testify against her alleged attackers last week.
