Andy Murray continues his title defense on Tuesday when he meets Denis Istomin in the fourth round of the 2013 US Open. The match is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE or HERE.
World No. 3 Murray, the reigning US Open champion and the 2013 Wimbledon winner, can win his second straight US Open title if he continues to play well. Murray has dropped only one set in his first three matches in New York, and he's often looked unstoppable.
The next leg of Murray's title defense is against Istomin, who's ranked No. 65 in the World. The 26-year-old Russian is 27-24 on the season and still without any career titles. Istomin started his US Open campaign with a win against Nicolas Almagro (6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3), then Tobias Kamke (6-4, 6-2, 6-2) and, on Sunday, Andreas Seppi (6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 3-6, 6-1).
Murray said his opponent is "technically very sound," and the Scot is prepared for a challenge from him.
"He hits the ball very flat," Murray said of Istomin, via the Guardian. "He served extremely well [against Andreas Seppi] in the third round, when he hit 24 aces. He's played wel here and he had a very good match with Novak [Djokovic] in Montreal [where he took a set off the World No. 1 in the fourth round.]"
Istomin knows he has a battle in store for him if he wants to achieve a career-best at the US Open and make it to the quarterfinals.
"(Murray is) a great returner, he returns almost everything. My key is my serve, so I will try to serve better than usual," Istomin said, via BBC. "He's moving on the court incredibly so I will try to move him more and try to beat him."
Murray and Istomin have met only once before, when Murray won in two sets earlier this year at Brisbane.
