Houston Texans running back Arian Foster reportedly injured his groin during the first full pads practice of training camp today. ESPN 97.5 Houston's Jayson Braddock tweeted the following:
Arian Foster's groin injury is serious in nature. Source said it should require surgery & may be candidate for IR w/ designation for return.

Surgery would indicate a significant injury for the veteran running back. Unfortunately for Texans fans, Tania Ganguli and John McClain of the Houston Chronicle are reporting the same.
Foster's backup is second-year running back Alfred Blue. Blue carried the ball 169 times for 528 yards (3.1 YPC) and two touchdowns last season. The Texans could look to the trade market if Foster is expected to miss significant time and head coach Bill O'Brien is not comfortable with Blue as the starter.
