Besides the huge question we have going into Season 4b of “Pretty Little Liars”—what does Ezra being “A” mean—there are other questions we have going into the second half.
One being—What the heck are Mona and Shana planning?
Executive Producer Oliver Goldstick recently said his team “WILL pay off” the meeting Toby witnessed between the Shana and Mona.
“I’ve always said, Mona is a viscous little dumpling and no one should forget who she was in Seasons 1 and 2 — even if she has ‘redeemed’ herself or ‘absolved’ herself of some of those horrible deeds,” Goldstick said. “She was still capable of them, and that’s important to remember.”
Mona’s “horrible deeds” could either be a good thing or a bad thing. We’ve seen her ridiculous smarts and her deviousness used for good when she confessed to the murder of Detective Wilden. Of course we’ve also seen her “horrible deeds” on the “A” team which made her scary and diabolical.
Jannel Parrish did an interview in August with WetPaint.com in which she reiterated a point many PLL fans have come to recognize—no one really ever knows what Mona’s up to.
"There’s a lot going on with her," Parrish told the website. "It’s hard to keep track of her— she’s a crafty one! I think the best thing about Mona is that you never know what to expect from her. She has a bunch of layers; she never quite gives all her cards away. So I think that’s what is fun about watching her character."
Hopefully whatever Mona’s planning, it helps the Liars and stops “A.”
