Two IHOP customers got into an argument at one of the company's restaurants in California after one reportedly became upset about other Hispanic patrons speaking Spanish, according to What's Trending.
"We speak English in America," the disturbed customer shouted, among other things, to the innocent bystanders.
Norma Vasquez and her son Carlos Steven Vasquez then stood up against the verbal harassment after the two felt that they should be able to speak Spanish in addition to English - a language they already utilize - and a dialect the disgruntled patron did not realize they also knew.
Carlos immediately went to social media to express his dismay about the situation.
"So today at IHOP a white lady stepped in and insulted my mother for speaking Spanish," Vasquez wrote on Facebook. "She told my mom to learn English Or get out of America.my mom does speak English with an accent though! I stepped in an didn't let her do that. Please share!! This will not stop unless we step in. Latinos tenemos que hablar contra el RACISMO! Here's the video of proof!"
