Pricing for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe in North America has finally been revealed, with the Online Newsroom of Mercedes-Benz USA announcing that the entry-level model, the GLE450 AMG 4MATIC, will have a $65,100 price tag. The more powerful variant, the full-fledged AMG GLE63 S 4MATIC, will cost consumers $109,300.
The pricing scheme is not inclusive of the $925 destination charges of Mercedes, which means that buyers will shell out a total of $66,025 and $110,225, respectively, according to Benz Insider.
The GLE450 AMG Coupe has a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 power unit, while the AMG GLE63 S Coupe offers a 5.5-liter biturbo V8, which Benz Insider said is handcrafted by the specialists of Mercedes' performance division.
Consumers will not be able to purchase a base model, as the price information only included the powerful AMG line, Autoweek noted. However, they can expect to find sleek exterior styling with a new body kit, nine-speed automatic transmission and leather-dominated interior, which also sports Mercedes' latest proprietary infotainment system, with high-tech navigation and a touch control feature.
The pricing announcement for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe came at the heels of the company's recent report that its sales breached the one million mark in the first seven months of 2015, setting a record for the automaker with 1,048,178 units sold.
"Never before have we delivered so many cars to customers in the first seven months of a year. About a quarter of them are C-Class saloons and estates," Ola Källenius, senior manager at Daimler AG, said in a press statement.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is available for order this month, so one can expect the Mercedes sales figures to balloon even more in the coming months.
