Brandon Jennings is currently rehabbing an Achilles injury he suffered last season and is confident he will be back for the start of the season or at least close to it. Despite the rehab he is currently undergoing Jennings has still managed to make news off the court as he has deleted his once very active Twitter account. The reason for Jennings getting rid of his Twitter was because he was receiving a lot of backlash from Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill fans, according to Paul Thompson of XXL Magazine.
The backstory here starts with the ongoing beef between Drake and Meek Mill where the two have been going back and forth dissing each other after Meek Mill called out Drake for having a ghost writer. Jennings has said that he is a big fan of Drake and told TMZ that Meek Mill was corny and that his career is over after Meek Mill dropped a disk track that everyone seemed to dislike.
After Jennings' comments went viral he reportedly suffered a ton of backlash from not only Meek Mill fans but also fans of Nicki Minaj who is currently dating Meek Mill. Jennings sent out a series of tweets before he eventually deleted his account talking about how he was "cool on the social media fa real lol. Can't have a opinion about anything anymore" but that he still loves his fans.
Before deleting his account Jennings had upwards of 100 thousand followers and now all of his followers and account history seem to have transferred to a new Twitter account @_blktray. The Drake and Meek Mill beef has been huge in the hip hop community all along but with this news it is spilling over to athletes too as Jennings comments backing one of the artists led to enough backlash for him to delete his Twitter account.
Now that Jennings no longer has Twitter maybe he will be able to focus even more on his recovery and get back on the court for the Detroit Pistons even sooner than anticipated. Training camp starts at the end of September for NBA teams but Jennings isn't expected back until around the end of October when the NBA regular season starts.
