The Craigslist Killer, Thomas Coffee, was found guilty of first-degree murder on Tuesday. Coffee, 25, will serve a life sentence without parole for the murder of Daniel Cook, 27. He'll also serve 50 to 100 years in prison for three counts of armed robbery, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
In other words, he's not getting back out.
The Craigslist Killer was accused of using the website to find victims, whom he robbed. When Coffee fatally shot a man in 2013, he became a wanted murderer. Coffee says he is innocent of these crimes. "I'm not saying I'm no good guy, but I didn't have anything to do with this at all," Coffee said in court, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.
"The evidence of your guilt, your culpability, was overwhelming," the trial judge said to Coffee in court. The trial lasted five days, and jury deliberation took about five hours.
Coffee was found guilty of killing Daniel Cook, 27, who thought he was purchasing a vehicle from Coffee in 2013. Police say Coffee shot Cook in a botched robbery, according to IBTimes. "Justice was done for my son," Lisa, mother of Daniel Cook, said of the verdict.
Coffee was positively identified by witnesses at the scene of the murder. Police also uncovered cartridges matching the shell casings from the murder weapon in Coffee's home. Coffee has stated that the police planted evidence, according to People.
