"Today" show co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly took to live TV Friday morning to get some cosmetic surgery done.
The hosts decided they would get Botox and Juvederm fillers on-air as part of the shows' week-long look at noninvasive plastic surgery procedures, according to E! News.
Dr. Amy Wechsler performed both injections, which the co-hosts each said were painless, although Guthrie's procedure may have been a little more painful than Daly's. Daly, 42, who got the Juvederm filler injections on his smile lines, received a topical numbing gel, while Guthrie, 43, who got different injections in her temples and between her eyebrows, received no numbing cream at all.
"Savannah has beautiful blue eyes but she grew up in Arizona and spent a lot of time squinting at the sun and smiling," Dr. Wechsler explained. "Which is a great thing, but over use of these muscles cause crows feet which we will freeze with Botox." Guthrie revealed that she had gotten Botox before in the same area and didn't like it, but she said she "thought it would be fun to try it" on TV.
Carson, on the other hand, received a different injection for "deeper wrinkles." "This is used a lot for the area from the nose to the mouth, the smile lines," she explained. "It's for deeper wrinkles. Depending on the filler, they can last between six months to two years."
Both Gunthrie and Daly seemed nervous, but Wechsler comforted to them by answering any questions they had, according to Today. Once she was off-air, she answered some other questions and offered some valuable information.
"It's just giving you a little bit of a more youthful you," she said about the procedure, which can cost anywhere from $300 to $1,500. "When your face looks revitalized, then you feel better as well. It's always a personal choice."
