Gwen Stefani is definitely a "Rich Girl," and she has reportedly offered a payout to her soon-to-be ex-husband Gavin Rossdale so she doesn't have to fork over her fortune in their pending split, according to Radar Online. The longtime couple filed for divorce earlier this week.
"Before Gwen and Gavin got married, her business advisers recommended they get a prenup," the source told Radar Online. "But Gwen balked and didn't think it was necessary because this was going to be her forever."
Because they didn't sign a prenup, the No Doubt singer and her Bush rocker hubby's divorce settlement was subject to California's 50/50 community property law, according to TMZ. But new reports claim Stefani is challenging that. She was speculated to be worth around $80 million (to Rossdale's $35 million), but an insider claimed she's worth much more.
"It's significantly more, around $120 million," the insider told Radar Online. "A significant portion of the earnings comes from Gwen's clothing lines, being a judge on The Voice, and of course her music career makes up the rest."
Stefani and Rossdale's love story was a rock and roll fairy tale after the couple met when their bands were touring together in the '90s. They were together for 20 years, married for 13 and share three sons together, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 1, as previously reported by HNGN. The former couple announced their divorce on Aug. 3 in a joint statement.
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage," they said in a statement obtained by Us Weekly, "we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment."
