Kylie Jenner is kicking off her birthday festivities in a charitable way. The reality star, who turns 18-year-old on Monday, Aug. 10, paid a visit to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Friday to spread joy to some young patients.
Us Weekly reported that Jenner handed out bags that were filled with everything from health-minded candy to Beats headphones, Us Weekly. Jenner also gave out socks from brother Rob Kardashian's fashion line.
"Let the birthday celebrations begin! First stop: @childrensla," Jenner captioned a picture of herself pushing a cart filled with decorative overflowing gift bags.
"It was all Kylie's idea. She feels so lucky to be able to celebrate her birthday the way that she gets to, she wanted to give back to other people in need," an insider told Us Weekly.
Jenner will be celebrating her 18th birthday by hosting a bash at the Beach Club in Montreal, Canada, where the legal drinking age is 18. She is also reportedly earning $100,000 to $200,000 for her appearance at the nightclub.
"Kylie Jenner takes advantage of Canadian drinking age with plans to celebrate her birthday in style at Beachclub," the club owner wrote on his website and in a press release. "Team Productions and Beachclub's owner Olivier Primeau stepped up to the plate to offer Kylie the opportunity to party, and drink legally at a fantastic one of a kind venue! The event will take place on August 16th 2015, and will be sure to offer many special guests and great surprises."
Jenner's older sister, Khloé Kardashian, defended the reality star's lifestyle during an interview with Complex Magazine this month.
"Kylie might be 17, but from what Kylie has been through and the life she lives, she's not a normal 17-year-old," the 31-yaear-old told the magazine about her sister. "You're not gonna say, 'Hey, so what are you doing this weekend?' and have her say, 'Having a slumber party at my girlfriend's,' or 'Going to prom.' That's not what Kylie does."
"Kylie is taking business meetings and bought her first house, or she's going on a private plane with Karl Lagerfeld to take a meeting," she added. "That's not even what people do in their 30s. It's a rare circumstance, so let's treat this as a special case."
