In Hollywood, a driver who was allegedly on drugs, slammed into a car of seven, with a baby being among the injured victims, say police
The injured passengers include a 1-month-old boy, a 2-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and four adults, according to USA Today.
Authorities believe the hit-and-run driver had been involved with a minor traffic accident and was attempting to flee from that scene.
The hit-and-run suspect was driving south on Orange Drive before running a red light, slamming into a Toyota Corolla driving eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard, according to ABC7 News.
Authorities recieved a report for the accident around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
Sgt. James Tomeo believes speed and alcohol could have played a role in the crash.
Officers believe that the hit-and-run driver may not have been alone.
Police Sgt. Clifton Frazier said that the suspect helped several people get out of his car before fleeing the scene on foot.
No description could be given, but the hit-and-run suspect was last seen running eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the LA Times.
The victims were listed as being in critical condition, but reports now claim that there have only been minor injuries.
