It's been about eight months since Emma Watson and Matthew Janney broke up and she's finally opened up about this rough point in her life, describing it as a "horrendous" time.
The 25-year-old "Harry Potter" actress graces the cover of the latest issue of Vogue UK and they're calling her the "voice of a generation." It turns out, though, that the usually outspoken young star took it upon herself to take a weeklong vow of silence toward the end of her relationship with the British rugby player to deal with the drama, according to Us Weekly.
"I felt really uncomfortable," she told the magazine. "Even before my relationship ended, I went on a silent retreat because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself."
She went on to explain that the split was a "horrendous" time and that she hasn't been romantically linked to anyone since the breakup, even though there had been some rumors going around about her and Prince Harry, according to Entertainment Tonight. Vogue's reporter suggested that the reason for this could be that her success can be intimidating to men, but Watson doesn't think that's the case.
"The boyfriends or partners I've had generally made me feel really cherished," she explained. "They've built me up. I certainly haven't found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I've struggled in my love life."
As for her vow of silence, she took of to Canada's Rocky Mountains to deal with her heartbreak, according to Daily Mail. Here, they have a facility which offers and enforces a week-long silence vow and she took part in this shortly before she and Janney broke up last year.
