Steve-O Arrested For Climbing Crane In Protest Against SeaWorld

"MTV Jackass" star Steve-O was arrested Sunday night for climbing a crane in Hollywood in order to protest against SeaWorld. Emergency responders had to called to a construction site on Sunset Boulevard after Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, climbed a crane at least 100 feet high, according to Los Angeles police Lt. Michael Ling, according to ABC News.

Glover, 41, inflated a large killer whale balloon that read "SeaWorld Sucks" as soon as he reached the top and lit fireworks, broadcasting it live on his Facebook page. He earlier teased his stunt on Instagram, saying that he was about to do something that would get him in a "lot of trouble."

"It's stunt time," Steve-O wrote in his first post of the night along with a five-minute video recording the initial moments of his daredevilry.

He later posted a picture of the ground showing his shoes as he stood on a narrow beam captioned, "Did Mention that I'm really high in the air? Hearing sirens now."

For his last stunt update of the night, he showed a flock of fire engines on the street below him, with the drone of a helicopter overhead in a 17-second video. "That is a lot, a lot of [expletive] firetrucks," Steve-O wrote in the video caption. "Anyone wanna bail me out of jail?"

Steve-O was placed under arrest when he later climbed down and is looking at charges of trespassing, setting off a firework without a permit, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Investigators are still determining what charges apply, Ling said, Los Angeles Times reported.

This isn't the first time Steve-O has protested against SeaWorld. In 2014, he was charged with a traffic infraction for defacing a freeway sign in San Diego. He uploaded a video on YouTube showing him climbing up the freeway sign to add the word "sucks" after the words "Sea World."
