A fan attacked WWE pro wrestler Roman Reigns during an event in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday. The Canadian fan threw a fake Money in the Bank briefcase into the ring, hitting Reigns in the back of his head and on his neck, SportAct reported.
During the contest between Reigns (real name Joe Anoa'i) and Wyatt, a fan tossed a replica of the Money in the Bank briefcase into the ring while Reigns had his back turned. The match was interrupted briefly when Reigns was hit on his neck and back, according to reports.
Other fans booed and chanted, "kick him out" at the fan that was responsible for delaying the match. The man was arrested after being escorted out of the arena, according to local Canadian channel CTV News. No charges were pressed after the fan apologized.
Reigns didn't suffer any injuries, although fan-shot video footage of the event showed him hunched over in the corner of the ring for a few minutes before he finished the match (and won). He also returned to the WWE and performed with fellow WWE star Dean Ambrose in a tag team match on "Monday Night Raw" against Wyatt and Luke Harper.
The object was a replica of the metallic Money in the Bank briefcase, a prop used in the ladder match of the same title. A group of wrestlers compete in the match and the first to climb a ladder to reach the briefcase is rewarded with the contract inside that guarantees the victor a chance at any championship title match of his choice.
