Teens Stop Kidnapping: Two Boys Save Woman From Getting Snatched (VIDEO)

Two teenagers prevented a kidnapping attempt in Texas after witnessing a cry for help from a woman who had just been forced into a vehicle, WFAA reported.

Aaron Arias, 19, and Jamal Harris, 17, were driving to pick up a friend on August 22 when they noticed the woman panicking in the back seat of the car in front of them.

Arias said that after seeing the expression on her face, the boys "had to go after" the car.

"And then we made eye contact, and I see this serious expression on her face. What she was trying to say was serious," Harris added. "And I read her lips and she was like, 'help me.'"

The boys continued to follow the car and called 911.

Police officers said the man driving the vehicle, Charles Atkins Lewis Jr., kidnapped the woman in the Dallas and forced her into his car.

"He was driving crazy, swerving and everything," Arias said. "And at one point he started turning on and off his lights, so we knew that he knew he was being followed."

After following Lewis for 20 minutes, the police finally cornered him and rescued the woman from his car, who expressed her thanks to the boys who helped her escape.

"The hugs, the tears, like, she was crying because she was beyond grateful," Arias said. He described the hug she gave him as "the best hug I've ever gotten."

Lewis was arrested and remains in custody on $50,000 bond.

"You don't need a cape to be a hero," Harris said. "You just have to be yourself and just respond."
