NFL RUMORS: Draft Returning To Chicago For 2016

The 2015 NFL Draft went so well in the eyes of the league, it seems, that the NFL will be returning to Chicago for its annual rookie meat market again next year for the 2016 version. NFL.com reporter Steve Wyche revealed that Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will hold a press conference on Tuesday, presumably to announce that the draft is returning to the Windy City.

The league moved the draft to Chicago from New York City's Radio City Music Hall for this past off-season's edition. It marked the first time the draft had been held in Chicago since 1964, per NFL.com.

As Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com noted, with the league exploring Los Angeles expansion and likely to have at least one team, if not two, in the Southern California area in the near future, it seemed to make sense to hold the draft out west. But with expansion efforts still in the preliminary stage and league officials apparently very happy with Chicago's efforts with the even last year, including "Draft Town" in Grant Park which saw thousands of visitors, it seems Chi-town is set for another go-round.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed the date and location shortly after Wyche's report...
