Mexico hosts Honduras on Friday in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers. The match starts at 9:30 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.
Both teams take part on Friday in their seventh CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier. Mexico sits in third place with eight points from their previous six matches, FootballAndFutbol.com reports. Mexico's biggest challenge will be winning at home for the first time in the final Hexagonal - the team's only three home games (Jamaica, USA, Costa Rica) all ended in 0-0 draws.
Mexico manager Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre is confident his team will leave with a win.
"Our strength is the unity of the group," Chepo said during a presser on Thursday, via FootballAndFutbol.com. "We are going to put the best available lineup. The players win their spot in the daily work, not because of what they did in the past.
"... The fans know we need their unconditional support. We know that we haven't played our best, but they also know that we have a great team. All the players are engaged to win this match."
Honduras sits one spot behind Mexico at No. 4 in the CONCACAF qualifier standings. The squad has seven points from their last six matches, but has struggled in away games with three losses - 2-0 against Panama, 1-0 against Costa Rica and 1-0 against USA.
History is on Mexico's side. In seven CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers against Honduras that were played in Mexico City, Mexico won all seven matches while giving up only two goals. Mexico is the favorite to win.
