Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tim Tebow has never been shy about his faith. A devout Christian, Tebow has always attributed much of his success in life and on the football field to his deep seated belief in God. As such, it wasn't surprising then when Tebow, signing autographs for a handful of Eagles fans after a recent Philadelphia training camp practice, was handed a Bible and immediately put his John Hancock on it.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Tebow was viewed by many as a roster longshot when the Eagles signed him earlier this offseason, but recent reports have suggested that the former Florida Gator, Denver Bronco, New York Jet and New England Patriot has a real chance at sticking on Chip Kelly's 53-man roster.
If you asked Tebow how that became possible, he'd likely point to his faith.
"Through everything I do...and just by living...I want people, when they see me, to say, 'There's something different about this guy, and that's because he has a relationship with Jesus Christ,'" Tebow said in an interview with BeyondTheUltimate.com in 2007.
While there's still a long way to go in the Eagles offseason and nothing is yet set in stone for Tebow or any of the other NFL hopefuls vying for a spot in the Philly lineup, it's likely an encouraging sign for his legions of adoring fans that he's staying true to himself as he fights to stick on Kelly's roster.
