The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department has identified a woman found walking in Greene, Maine late on Wednesday night. When found, she was unable to communicate her name to anyone, according to NECN.
Authorities previously released a description of the woman and this photo to help others identify her. After police released the picture, the woman was tentatively identified as Jessica Green, 41. This is based off of a police report from an officer who encountered the woman earlier this summer. At that time, she said she was from Wisconsin. The sheriff's office received many calls about her, but the leads were all dead-ends. When she was first spotted, the woman was pulling a piece of brown luggage on wheels. Police are looking for anything within the luggage that may provide them with clues, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Anyone recognizing the woman who may be Jessica Green is asked to called the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department at 207-753-2599, The Bangor Daily News reported. Callers should ask for Deputy Martin Fournier to report any information about her.
Data shows that Greene, Maine has a population of 4,350 as of 2010. New York City and its much more massive population is about 300 miles away. Greene is almost 100 miles away from Bangor, Maine.
