Former Bill Clinton Adviser Says Hillary Will Be Indicted, Forced Out Of Presidential Race Over Email Scandal

Dick Morris, former adviser to President Bill Clinton, told Newsmax TV on Friday that he believes Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will be indicted over her email scandal and forced to withdraw her candidacy.

Clinton's exclusive use of an unsecured private email system during her tenure as secretary of state, which investigators say likely exposed hundreds of highly classified documents to foreign governments and hackers, will lead to "overwhelming" evidence that Clinton broke the law, Morris told "Newsmax Now" host Miranda Khan.

It was revealed last week that the FBI is conducting a criminal investigation into Clinton's private system. Morris said he believes the investigation will eventually force Clinton out of the presidential race, which he thinks will open the door to other Democrats, like Vice President Joe Biden, who has been considering a run.

"I see her being indicted, I see her being forced out of the race, I see [Vice President Joe] Biden running and I see a lot of pressure ramping up on other Democrats like [Secretary of State John] Kerry and [former Vice President Al] Gore and Deval Patrick in Massachusetts and a bunch of others, Elizabeth Warren, to get into the race. Not as opponents of Hillary but as understudies," he said.

"It's shocking that she would do this stuff on an unsecured server. And remember that these are two emails out of 40 that were reviewed. There are 30,000 more to go," Morris continued.

The inspector general for the intelligence community informed Congress this week that two of 40 random emails reviewed from Clinton's private system contained information about a U.S. drone policy that was classified as "top secret" at the time they were sent, which is one of the highest classifications, reported McClatchy.

"What does the Secretary of State talk about? National parks or garbage collection? She's going to speak about stuff that's either classified or borderline classified. When they go through all 30,000, the evidence is going to be so overwhelming that I believe she will be indicted," Morris said.

Morris told Newsmax that he thinks Clinton acted in a "reckless" manner. "Who's the one who's in charge of deciding what's secret and what's not? Hillary Clinton. So if the documents came and they were unclassified, unmarked, it was her duty to mark them and to respect that marking," Morris said.

"Obviously, drones and the kind of information you're talking about would be top secret. Hillary was reckless in consigning all this to her personal server because of the very material that the Secretary of State deals with. I believe the evidence will be so overwhelming that she violated the protocols that I don't think they're going to have any choice but to go after her."

During her tenure as secretary of state, Clinton decided to forgo using a government-issued email address, instead choosing to set up an email address and server at her family home in Chappaqua, New York. The server had not been outfitted to handle classified information and was hosted with a consumer grade company that had been hacked on numerous occasions.

Nearly two years after leaving the State Department, in accordance with the department's official record-keeping policy, Clinton finally turned over 30,000 emails she unilaterally determined to be work-related, and then deleted an additional 30,000 that she said were personal in nature, without independent oversight.

Earlier this week, Clinton finally turned the server over to the Justice Department after refusing to do so for months, however, it has reportedly been wiped clean by professionals, making it difficult for the FBI to recover anything, reported the National Review.

Morris summed up his position in a separate interview with Newsmax: "The magnitude of the evidence is going to be so overwhelming that it'll be impossible not to indict her," Morris said. "So yes, I do believe Hillary Clinton will be indicted and will be forced out of this race."
