Siri has officially saved a life, so maybe all her critics are wrong after all.
Sam Ray, 18, was in a potentially fatal accident on July 2. Luckily, he had his iPhone with him, and his life was saved by a butt dial, according to The Inquisitr.
He was working underneath a truck when the jack slipped. The truck, 5,000 pounds in weight, fell on top of him. Somehow, his phone butt dialed for help. Trapped under the vehicle, he heard the sound of Siri speaking. He got the phone to dial 911. If it wasn't for that call, he would be dead right now.
"When I heard a woman talking from inside my pocket, I just started shouting," Ray said. He was trapped for about 40 minutes when first responders arrived to rescue him. He broke some ribs, bruised a kidney and received burns from the exhaust pipes.
"I was starting to accept that I wouldn't get out," Ray said, USA Today reported. "I guess I'm stuck with an iPhone for the rest of my life...I owe them that."
Siri has received criticism in the past, according to Ubergizmo. In this case, however, it looks like she saved the day.
