She's only 21-years old, but already former Disney princess Demi Lovato has been through her share of struggles. The Associated Press reports "The X-Factor" judge has just signed a multi-book deal, and is even planning on writing a memoir detailing her journey to recovery.
Lovato announced today via an adorable Keek video that she will be soon be releasing a book of inspirational quotes, "Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year," which will be available in stores Nov. 19. She's just signed a deal with Feiwel and Friends, an imprint of Macmillan Publishers, which includes plans for her memoir that will likely detail her struggles with an eating disorder, mental illness and growing up in the spotlight, dealing with all of the pressure that comes along with it.
Fans were eager to learn what the hashtag "#StayingStrong" referenced on Twitter, as Lovato teased them through the weekend on the big news coming soon. Some speculated she would be starring in a new documentary, a follow-up to her 2012 MTV film, "Demi Lovato: Stay Strong," which allowed fans to witness a number of the star's private moments as she paid a special visit to her treatment center and embarked on her first tour after rehab.
Instead, Lovato is turning to writing something other than pop/rock music, though she has not revealed any details yet on how she'll structure her reported memoir.
It's been an amazing year for Lovato and her fans, as the singer will reprise her role as judge and mentor on the upcoming season of "The X-Factor" alongside judges Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, all of whom she's developed close friendships with over the course of filming. Season 3 premieres on Sept. 11-12 on FOX, but you'll also be able to catch Lovato on the network's hit musical series "Glee" this fall, as she'll be playing Dani, a struggling NYC artist who becomes Santana (Naya Rivera)'s love interest.
"I get to play a lesbian on the show and that's something that I feel like hasn't really been brought to primetime with, you know, as a young actress. And I think it represents where our society is today," Lovato said recently to Access Hollywood. "You know, 15 years ago you wouldn't have seen that on TV, but now people are becoming more comfortable with it and I'm glad that I get to represent that, and also, just hopefully inspire people with my character to love who they are and accept who they are and not give a crap what other people think."
In addition to expressing her excitement over her newest role, Lovato has praised her new co-stars on their acting and singing abilities, including her friend Lea Michele, whom she gushed is "such a strong woman" that she's very proud of, especially considering what the actress recently went through after losing her boyfriend Cory Monteith to addiction.
As for her music, Lovato will be joining "Glee" during a special Beatles episode, where she and Rivera will do a duet together of "Here Comes the Sun," likely among other songs that we have yet to be spoiled about.
