Captain Jack Sparrow will officially reunite with Will Turner in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Orlando Bloom is returning to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series after not appearing in the fourth installment, according to the Huffington Post.
The exciting news was announced at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California where the film's star, Johnny Depp, went out in character as Captain Jack Sparrow on Saturday to tease "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
At the panel, it was revealed that Bloom had been a part of the film, which recently wrapped shooting in Australia.
According to new plot summary details, reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the new chapter of the series sees a down on his luck Sparrow on a new adventure. Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea, including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Bloom's return was not shocking, according to International Business Times. The D23 announcement was the first confirmation, but rumors had been spreading for months that he would return to the franchise. The star even revealed that he was in talks to possibly join the 2017 film when he was promoting "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" in 2014.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
