BBC TV anchor Selina Scott revealed a secret about Donald Trump Sunday that most never knew about: He wanted Princess Diana to be his "trophy wife" and allegedly stalked her to make it happen.
In an Aug. 16 post for The Sunday Times, Scott, 64, wrote that Trump allegedly bombarded Princess Diana with flowers he sent to Kensington Palace after her 1996 divorce from Prince Charles, and he reportedly came on so strong it gave her the creeps.
"Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife," wrote Scott. "As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment, she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her."
Princess Diana was apparently so bothered by Trump that she asked Scott what she should do about his advances, according to Us Weekly.
"'What am I going to do?' she asked. 'He gives me the creeps,'" recalled Scott. "'Just throw them in the bin,' I advised. Diana laughed."
Scott said Princess Diana's sudden death took a massive toll on Trump. And, in his 1997 book "The Art of the Comeback," he revealed his one regret when it came to romance, according to the Examiner.
"I only have one regret in the women department — that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer. I met her on a number of occasions.... She lit up the room with her charm, her presence. She was a genuine princess — a dream lady."
Amidst the accusations of stalking, a rep for Trump said he did no such thing.
"They had a great relationship, [they] liked each other a lot, but nothing ever came of it," said the rep.
