IPhone 5C Specs, Price, Release Date: Apple Announcement 2013 Unveils 5 Different-Colored Smartphone, IOS 7 Download Confirmed (PHOTOS)

Apple Announcement 2013 is underway and they have confirmed what we already knew; the newest iPhones will come in different colors.

If you have been following CNET's live blog of the announcement, you know Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 5C during their annual conference.

"A few of you have maybe seen a few shots of this on the web, and that's cool, because everyone's really excited," Phil Schiller told the press crowd.

And Schiller's statement is correct. Photos of the iPhone 5C were floating around the Internet since rumblings began about the new smartphone. The iPhone 5C will come in five different colors: green, white, blue, red and yellow.

"The iPhone 5C is made with all the incredible technology that customers have loved with the iPhone 5, but there's more, too. It has an incredible new design. One that's more fun, and more colorful than anything we've made before," Schiller said.

The phone will contain a 4-inch display, like the iPhone 5, along with an A6 chip inside for "blazing-fast performance." The camera on the iPhone 5C is "8 megapixel iSight camera, with the five-element lens and IR filter as seen on the 5," CNET reports. The phone also supports "more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world," including 100Mbps downloads and dual-band WiFi.

The newest iPhone is made out of toxin-free polycarbonate, which is a plastic-like material. Schiller assured the crowd the phone is a lot sturdier than you would believe.

"A solid, dense feel that you would not expect from a plastic product," Shiller added.

The iPhone 5C will be available for pre-order on Sept. 13 and released on Sept. 20. The phone is priced at $99 for 16GB, 32GB $199 with a two-year contract. Apple also unveiled custom cases for the new iPhone, which will cost $29.

Apple also announced the new iOS 7 will be available to download for free on Sept. 18.
