Jamaica meets Costa Rica on Tuesday in a 2014 World Cup Qualifier. The match begins at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.
Costa Rica is coming off a surprising 3-1 win over USA, which fell to second place. As the teams near the end of qualifying matches, each game becomes more and more competitive for a spot next year in Brazil. Costa Rica leads the CONCACAF Hexagonal with 14 points, LatinTimes.com reports. With the USA trailing by just one point, Costa Rica hopes to further its standing in the Hexagonal with a win over last-place Jamaica.
Costa Rica will look for another solid performance from Alvaro Saborio, who leads the team with seven goals.
History favors Costa Rica - Jamaica hasn't defeated Costa Rica since 1997, and Costa Rica has never lost a game in the final stage of the World Cup qualifications. The last time these two teams met, earlier in March, Costa Rica handed the Caribbean team a 2-0 loss.
For Jamaica, it's a do-or-die situation - the team could be eliminated from a spot in the World Cup if they lose on Tuesday. With only three points, Jamaica would need a miracle and then some to qualify for next year's World Cup.
Costa Rica is the heavy favorite to win.
