One of the most anticipated games of the fall is Rockstar Game's latest installment of their massively successful "Grand Theft Auto" series "GTA V." As any fan of the previous games knows, nothing makes losing a police tale or pulling off the perfect heist easier than knowing your way around the map. Now, thanks to leaked images via Reddit, users can get their first glimpse of the fictional city of Los Santos, a parody of Los Angeles, before the game hits store shelves Sept. 17.
The leak supposedly comes from the official Brady Games Grand Theft Auto 5 strategy guide, a book that acts as a wiki for all things related to the title in question. Rockstar games has previously said that the Los Santos map will be larger than the game worlds of "Grand Theft Auto 4," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," and its western open world title "Red Dead Redemption" all combined.
Reddit user's first reaction to the map was that it seemed very small in scope, albeit large in size. After all, a majority of the map is dedicated to open green space. However, this is all by design as Rockstar Games sought to create an environment where users could experience a full range of experiences in a variety of environments. The Los Santos map offers gamers a place to explore the desert, wilderness, small towns of Blaine County, the ocean, a more metropolitan city area as well as a military base - the sky is the limit, literally.
According to The Independent, Rockstar posted an offical map to its Twitter account in order to put down some of the criticism that the map was far too small. However, that post has since been romved. The map, complete with overlaid images to show the complexity of the seemingly small areas can be seen at their website HERE.
