The second season of “The Following” is sure to bring a lot of drama and a lot of suspense. Fans have already been told that Ryan Hardy’s (Kevin Bacon) niece Max (Jessica Stroup) and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) will not get along when they first meet. However, according to TVGuide.com, it seems Uncle Ryan is also going to have an issue with Mr. Weston.
"Ryan and Mike confront each other at a crime scene in New York,” show Creator Kevin Williamson said according to the website referring to when the show returns in 2014.
Executive producer Marcos Siego said the show will not be the same “race-against-the-clock” style as last season.
"So we're free to explore more character moments. It's going to be really interesting to get into that stuff,” explained Siego.
This sophomore season of “The Following” is shaping up to be better than the first. Siego is right in that the first go-round was restricted to a steady diet of this-happened-now-we-have-to-hurry-up-and-fix-it-before-it’s-too-late.
Now we can have additional storylines and possibly more cases. If the season isn’t spent chasing Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), it could take on a “Criminal Minds” sort of style with a couple new serial killers over the course of the season, leaving Carroll as the big target later in the season.
It will be interesting to delve further into the Ryan Hardy’s life as we meet his niece and to find out what’s been happening with to Joe and Emma (Valorie Curry). It’s just a shame we will have to wait till next year to get answers.
