Sibling kitties, Elfie and Gimli, were adopted from a shelter in British Columbia, Canada. They were born to a healthy average-sized cat, but both turned out to have dwarfism.
"Luckily for Elfie and Gimli they ended up in a shelter where staff members were familiar with dwarfism in cats," their human mom wrote on their Facebook page.
Since the kittens are smaller than the average cat, they made it clear that they were not bred to be small since they do not support designer breed "munchkin cats."
The kittens' human claimed it was "love at first sight" and agreed to be their foster mom, but adopted them after a month.
Elfie and Gimli's condition doesn't keep them from normal cat activities like "playing, napping around the house and being totally weird and adorable," noted The Dodo.
The two have a large social media following where their mom promotes adoption using the hashtag #AdoptDontShop, encouraging followers to adopt rescue animals from their local shelters.
While some possible health challenges are expected for the cats because of their dwarfism, "they are healthy now and extremely loved by everyone who meets them," according to The Dodo.
