The New York Yankees play the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.

The Yankees and Orioles split the previous two games. Now, in the third game of the four-game series, the teams continue to fight to position themselves for a chance at the second wild card spot in the AL.

Baltimore (77-67) trails the Tampa Bay Rays by 1.5 games for the second wild card spot, and New York (77-68) trails two games, the Associated Press reports.

While Orioles slugger Chris Davis vies for his 50th homer of the season, New York is reaping the rewards from acquiring Alfonso Soriano in July. In his 43 games with New York, Soriano has 15 home runs and 47 RBIs.

"They made a good acquisition," said Orioles manager Buck Showalter to AP reporters. "He's been a good player for a long time. It's a good pickup for them."

Orioles pitcher Scott Feldman (5-4, 3.63 ERA) gets the start in Baltimore, where he's won his last three outings while posting a 1.31 ERA. The former Cub gave up just one run in the Bronx on Aug. 31, when the Yankees pulled away with a 1-0 win. In seven career starts against the Yankees, Feldman is 3-4 with a 3.58 ERA.

Andy Pettitte (10-9, 4.03) is set on Wednesday to take the mound for New York. He's played incredibly well against the Orioles, going 8-0 with a 2.99 ERA in his last 12 regular-season starts against them. In his last two starts against the Orioles, Pettitte is 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA.

Camden Yards has treated him even better - he sports a 16-4 record in Baltimore, the most wins ever by a visiting pitcher at the stadium.

The fourth and final game of the series is on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:05 p.m. ET.

The Yankees announced on Wednesday that Derek Jeter is being put on the DL, which will essentially end his season, according to ESPN.
