The Mindy Project Season 2 Premiere Review: James Franco's Debut; Morgan's Usual Bucket of Laughs

I know I’m not the only one happy that “The Mindy Project” is back for another season. The show returned with its usual boatload of laughs in the full episode Season 2 premiere preview. So, here are my three favorite things about the Season 2 Premiere of “The Mindy Project”:

No. 1—Two Words, James. Franco.

James Franco brings his usual brand of outstanding acting as Dr. Paul Leotard, the OBGYN who replaced Mindy after she traveled to Haiti to do charity work. He is more than hilarious in the season premiere, especially with his sex advice for Danny (Chris Messina) and Christina (Chloe Sevigny). His first encounter with Mindy—in slow motion I might add—was also laughs. However, her admiration with his character Paul lasts all of two seconds after she realizes that he’s her replacement. Is anyone else as excited as I am for Leotard vs. Lihari? (Although they may not stay enemies for long, hint hint).

No. 2—Danny/Mindy

In the season premiere it was fairly obvious that there is still something strong between Mindy and Danny. I'm sure we all saw how fast he ran over to the hospital when he heard she was sick? (Ok so technically no one saw him run over there but he was sweating pretty heavily right?)

No. 3—Morgan

I’m sorry but Morgan Tookers (Ike Barinholtz) has to be one of the funniest characters on television. He averages about eight (I’m estimating) great jokes an episode. It’s good to see him, and his hilariously awkward self back on FOX.

“The Mindy Project” officially returns Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 9:30/8:30c.
