Cat Named Bubba Becomes High School Student, Gets His Own School ID

Bubba is not your ordinary house cat. Nothing makes him happier than going to school and attending classes. So when Amber Marienthal's son was picking up his school ID at Leland High School in San Jose earlier this month, he noticed a familiar face on the photo of another student ID on the table, his cat Bubba, according to Love Meow.

The big orange tabby cat lives with his owner Amber Marienthal and her family in a house near Leland High School and Bret Harte Middle School. Marienthal says that her family initially tried keeping Bubba as an indoor cat when they first adopted him in 2009. But Bubba made it clear from the beginning that he enjoyed the great outdoors.

Bubba enjoys spending most of his time hanging out at Leland High School or Bret Harte Middle School, where the students at both campuses feel he is a local celebrity, according to Mashable. Bubba is allowed to wander through the school hallways and hang out in classrooms, meowing whenever he wants to be let in or out.

Bubba usually returns home once school and sports practices are over for the day, except for the one time when he was accidentally locked in a classroom for 36 hours. Luckily, he meows like a lion, and someone from security heard him, releasing the free spirit.

Bubba is so popular that he even has his own Facebok page with almost 3,000 fans, before his recent stardom. Today, he has 12,406 fans.... Make that 12,407.
