‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ Announces First Week Of Guests: George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Jeb Bush And More

Stephen Colbert is ready to dominate late-night television and has lined up some very important guests for his first week on air as the host of “The Late Show.” From A-list actors to a presidential candidate to CEOs of top businesses, Colbert will make his mark by interviewing a wide variety of subjects, according to E!

Announced by CBS earlier today, here are the scheduled guests for the first week of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”:

Tuesday, Sept. 8
For his very first show, Colbert will chat with actor George Clooney and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush. Plus, there will be a special performance by the show’s new bandleader Jon Batiste and his group Stay Human along with special guests.

Wednesday, Sept. 9
Actress Scarlett Johansson, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar and SpaceX and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk will talk with Colbert during his second episode. Lamar will also perform.

Thursday, Sept. 10
Country singer Toby Keith and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick will visit Colbert during his third show.

Friday, Sept. 11
And, during the last show of his first week, Colbert will interview hot comedian/actress Amy Schumer, author Stephen King and Troubled Waters (who will also perform).

In a recent interview with “GQ," Colbert compared his new talk show to a Food Network competition series. “This show is ‘Chopped,’” he said. “Who are your guests tonight? Your guests tonight are veal tongue, coffee grounds and gummy bears. There, make a show.… Make an appetizer that appeals to millions of people. That’s what I like. How could you possibly do it? Oh, you bring in your own flavors. Your own house band is another flavor. You have your own flavor. The audience itself is a base dish, like a rice pilaf or something. And then together it’s, ‘Oh s--t, that’s an actual meal.’... It’s all process.”

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” will air at 11:35 p.m. EDT on CBS starting Sept. 8.
