"NCIS" favorite Abby Sciuto will have to fend for herself when her lab comes under attack in an upcoming episode of the CBS drama.
In episode five, Abby (Pauley Perrette) "must use her wits" in a plot that showrunner Gary Glasberg described to TVLine as "an Abby/'Die Hard' story." He didn't specify exactly what kind of threat the lab tech would face.
The team will need to work together when the 13th season kicks off as they try to track down The Calling, a terrorist organization recruiting children to do its bidding. One of those young recruits laid out Gibbs (Mark Harmon), shooting him twice at the end of last season.
While Tony (Michael Weatherly) and CIA Officer Joanna Teague (Mimi Rogers) run down the terrorist organization abroad, McGee (Sean Murray), Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Palmer (Brian Dietzen) will work the case back in D.C.
Gibbs will start the season in emergency surgery on a Navy hospital ship. His road to recovery will be tough and could put him at odds with his right-hand man Tony.
The 13th season of "NCIS" will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
