Homeless South Carolina Teenager Faces Charges For Eating Lunch At Local High School

A homeless teenager in South Carolina has a warrant out for his arrest after eating lunch with a student at a local high school, WCSC reported.

The Horry County Police Department said on Thursday, August 29, parents called saying there was an individual on school property that shouldn't be there.

Officials quickly found out the individual was Logan Santos, 17, a former student at Carolina Forest High School. According to his friends, he is homeless and living out of a friend's car.

While that friend went to class, Santos stayed in his car and waited for the lunch period. Once his friend came back to the car, they ate lunch on the school campus.

The school administration not did provide specifics regarding the warrant but emphasized that school safety and security is their number one priority, and that means being aware of every individual on school grounds.

"If someone is here, that we are not aware should be, that could create a problem. They could be places they're not supposed to be," said Principal Gaye Driggers.

The principal also said the high school offers students financial assistance for school supplies, food, and even clothing, but need to be enrolled in the school to receive their services.

Santos' father, Alfred Souza, reportedly told local news outlets that his son has always been welcome in their home.

"We've given him a beautiful house to live in. He chooses not to live here. He took off a week ago Wednesday and we haven't see him since," he said.

The police report stated the student who brought Santos in the school was suspended. There is still a warrant out for Santos' arrest for disturbing schools.
