In her first big event since giving birth to Prince George, Kate Middleton dazzled on the red carpet tonight at the gala dinner for the Tusk Conservation Awards Gala, wearing a floor-length, sleeveless silver Jenny Packam gown and a pair of strappy silver stilettos at The Royal Society in London, the Daily Mail reports.
Today, Prince William announced that he has decided to leave the Royal Air Force in North Anglesey, Wales, and instead devote his time to attending to his royal duties, as well as caring for his son and spending quality time with the Duchess, of course.
For tonight's charity gala, Middleton kept her hair and make-up simple, looking elegant in diamond jewelry and a silver outfit, while Prince William, a patron of the charity, wore a sharp black suit and tie. Tonight, the Tusk Foundation will celebrate their achievements over the past year in the field of African conservation, which fits in nicely with Prince William's plans, as he is hoping to expand his charity work into the conservation of endangered species this year. Royal sources calling 2013 the prince's "transitional" period as he is done with the Air Force and has new public service options to consider.
Last month, Middleton made her first public appearance since giving birth in Anglesey, Wales at the ultra-marathon with Prince William. In contrast to tonight's sparkly silver dress, she wore a pair of skinny jackets, a flowy top, a jacket from Zara and a pair of black sling-backs, her hair loose in long waves down her back, and was praised by the media for looking casual yet chic. At the local event, Prince William revealed that their son sleeping fairly well and has given the new parents much trouble at night, as Middleton thanked the islanders for their warmth and hospitality.
Many were stunned to see how quickly the Duchess had lost her baby weight and reverted back to her svelte, athletic frame, as she told guests at the ultra-marathon that she was keen on getting back in shape after giving birth.
After staying at the Middleton manor in Bucklebury, Berkshire, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge moved back to their home in Anglesey, taking care of their son without help from a nanny or babysitter, though that soon may change as their royal duties begin to increase and Prince George becomes more of a handful.
Tonight's awards gala will be filmed as part of the Duke's new documentary on his family and passion for wildlife conservation.
