Josh Taekman, the husband of "Real Housewives of New York City" star Kristen Taekman admitted to paying for an Ashley Madison account. Taekman was the latest to be named after hackers released subscriber information stolen from Ashley Madison. Ashley Madison, a website that helped married people find people to have affairs with, was hacked last month.
Taekman reportedly signed up for the website in June 2011. The Eboost founder spent thousands of dollars on the website in multiple transactions over the years, reported The Daily Mail. He had 62 paid transactions. While signing up was free, subscribers had to buy credits in order to message other people. A fee of $49 gave subscribers 100 credits and $250 bought users 1,000 credits and a money-back guarantee if the user did not partake in an affair, according to Us Weekly.
On Monday Taekman admitted to singing up for the website but did not say he had an affair. "I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family," he told People. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives."
The 46-year-old entrepreneur married his former model wife, 38, 10 years ago. They have two kids together, Cassius, 6, and Kingsley, 3.
Taekman was just one of the celebrity husbands to be named in the scandal. "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar confessed to having an account and revealed that he cheated on his wife, Anna.
